Hotel description
The New Bath Hotel at Matlock Bath has been reviving tired spirits since the year in which Prince Charles Edward Stuart, Bonnie Prince Charlie led his Jacobites as far south as nearby Derby. Since the 18th century the hotel has been repeatedly extended and now boasts a fine banqueting hall which can seat 150 and opens on to our gardens providing a charming area to take pre dinner drinks. In the early part of the 20th century a large outdoor swimming pool was opened in the grounds. As with the indoor pool the water is naturally heated to 68f.. The hotel has its own private tennis court which is free to guests. If all this activity sounds too energetic simply relax and take afternoon tea or drinks and in the garden or on the terrace and watch the rock climbers on the cliffs just a few hundred yards away the Derment Valley.
