Hotel du Mont Dore, Paris - Ghrshotels.com

I have to say we got what we paid for. We traveled on a budget and were stopping only 2 nights in Paris, so to sleep only, this is fine. The owners were very nice and accomodating. The hotel is small, the rooms were small, but, like I said, we were only there to sleep-not to hang out. The proximity to the Metro was great-we were 2 stops from L'Opera' which became our base. All in all I would recommend for a budget-minded traveler that needs a place to stay that is pleasant and near the central Paris one wants to see. Many nice bistros and cafes nearby to stop for coffee and bakeries for fresh croissants and
baguettes whenever you want. A pharmacy on the corner was handy when I had run out of pain medication, and they helped with napuprophen that allowed me to function and walk. A must in Paris!

All staff at the reception desk was very friendly. They and also helped English-speaking guests with various queries - a big plus for foreign tourists in Paris. This is the second time that we stayed there and the quality of service is still very good. The location is very close to Rome metro station and Place de Clichy is also within a couple of minutes walking distance. Saturday morning brings the fresh produce market to the vicinity - well worth browsing with all the locals. Walk down Rue des Batignolles into the heart of the 17th District where French locals stay. Enjoy a peaceful espresso and freshly baked croissant as mothers stroll by with children in tow at the square near the Sainte-Marie des Batignolles church. In the evening, have a good meal here at one of the cozy bistros or popular cafe with lively young people. Hotel du Mont Dore is not a "smart" place, but provides adequate, clean accommodation and the location is just great if you want to experience different facets of Paris.
