Excellent, courteous, friendly service by all the staff- Vanessa and Mo were exceptional. Vanessa took care of us like we were family for most of our stay, but the last day, Mo came on; and he was just as helpful. The service more than makes up for the difference that Americans have become accustomed to in lodging - bigger rooms, closet space, coffee in the rooms, etc. What you can't get in American hotels is the quaint feeling of being in an older, but nicely kept up small Parisian hotel with service that is completely the opposite of the stereotype Americans have of French service. If you are a large person or have difficulty with mobility, ask for the shower rooms, not the baths. Keep your day-to-day clothing in your smallest suitcase (our 26-incher was the largest, and it opened next to the bed 'okay' - larger than that would be tight.) Breakfast smelled divine, but we are just 'coffee' people (horrible to say, but the Cafe allonge, American coffee, was wonderful to taste but no where near a coffee venti that I need to get started). The hotel is one block from the nearest Starbucks where the coffee is about the same price as here but tastes better for some reason. The hotel is just behind Rue Cler, which was excellent for coffee and a delicious French pastry as you strolled your way to the bus or Metro and good bistros. Excellent location - we easily walked back from the Louvre, bus and walked to Arc de Triomph & Champs-Elysées; but the Eiffel tower was so close and the view at night was something to see. You are tired from all the walking and sight-seeing when you return, so the size of the room will not bother you. For two, try the extra large double on the 3rd floor!! We will be back....Merci beaucoup, Vanessa et Mo!!

I suggest to provide a taxi service to the airport at a convenient price. The price that you have to pay from the airport to the hotel is very expensive usually more than 60 Euro.

The hotel staff is excellent. Room is quiet small with nice decation. The bathroom heater is broken so its extremely cold and the sanitary drainage leaking. Next to the hotel there is some noise of equipment building being renovated.

I loved this hotel. The staff are so helpful and friendly. They communicated with me via email in advance of my visit and went the extra mile to arrange anything I needed, including transportation and tour planning. They continued to offer every assistance upon arrival until departure. I appreciated that they all speak english. The location is fantastic with easy access to the Eifel tower, ARC, restaurants, shopping, subway and taxi service by walking. The room was very pretty and clean. I felt it was a nice, safe neighborhood. I think this hotel is a great value, I would definetly return. The breakfast buffet was fair. The pastries are wonderful but no eggs disappointed.

We just returned home from a week-long stay at the Hotel de la Motte Picquet in April 2012. The hotel was spotless, conveniently located, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. They gave us excellent advice and directions. The rooms were small but immaculate. An ATM was located just outside the entrance and the Ecole Militaire metro stop is about half a block away. Rue Cler is just steps away and there are many nice restaurants, patisseries, and chocolate shops within easy walking distance in this safe neighborhood. You are about 15 minutes from the Eiffel Tower on foot. Be aware that one of the 2 elevators in the Eiffel is expected to be out of service until later this year, perhaps as late as August. Lines are very long. Go very early in the morning for the shortest lines. Thank you to everyone at the Motte Picqet for a lovely experience.

The rooms are quite small even if the space is very well used. Couples with children: problem of space and the dining room has no access with elevator. The service was correct but not more than that. Quite noisy because of the lack of space between the rooms. The best thing about the hotel is its location in one of the most beautiful area of Paris.
